Welcome to Butter Swap, your gateway to efficient and low-cost crypto swapping on the Mantle Layer 2 blockchain. This guide will walk you through the basics of getting set up and starting your journey on Butter Swap. Whether you're a crypto novice or a seasoned trader, these steps will ensure a smooth and successful experience on our platform.
To interact with Butter Swap, you'll need a digital wallet compatible with Ethereum and Mantle. Some popular choices include MetaMask, WalletConnect, and Ledger. Choose a wallet that best fits your security and usability needs.
Once your wallet is set up and funded with some Mantle (MNT) to cover transaction fees, connect it to Butter Swap:
Visit the Butter Swap website.
Click on the “Connect Wallet” button.
Select your wallet from the list and follow the prompts to establish a secure connection.
Butter Swap operates on the Mantle network, so you'll need tokens on Mantle for transactions. You can bridge your existing Ethereum tokens using the official Mantle bridge. Mantle will send a bonus 4 MNT to your wallet so you have funds to pay for transactions. Read more about bridging here.
Familiarize yourself with the Butter Swap interface:
Swap: Exchange one token for another with ease and efficiency.
Pool: Provide liquidity to earn transaction fees.
Take some time to explore each section and understand the functionalities available to you.
To execute your first swap:
Select the “Swap” tab.
Choose the tokens you wish to swap from and to.
Enter the amount, review the estimated transaction fees, slippage, and rate.
Confirm the transaction in your wallet.

If you're interested in becoming a liquidity provider:
Select the “Pools” tab.
Select the token pair you wish to provide liquidity for.
Deposit the desired amount of each token.
Approve and confirm the transaction.
As a liquidity provider, you'll earn a portion of the trading fees from the transactions in your pool. Butter does not currently have a protocol fee, so all trading fees go to liquidity providers.
